You’ll start by painting and distressing your gate to create depth, character, and that perfectly imperfect, old-garden charm. Before class begins, you’ll select a 4-page IOD Transfer of your choice, which will be yours to use and take home. From there, you’ll personalize your piece using IOD Stamps and your chosen Transfer — selecting imagery and typography that fits your style, whether that’s floral, botanical, vintage, or romantic cottage-core.

To finish it off, you’ll learn how to create realistic faux rust details on the hardware, adding dimension and visual interest that makes this piece feel truly architectural.

This workshop is incredibly forgiving, beginner-friendly, and endlessly customizable — no two gates ever look the same.
